MAC-01 equipment

The MAK-01 equipment is designed to monitor the neutron-physical parameters of installations in order to increase the safety of work performed during operation, during loading and reloading of the active zones of installations, physical start-up and when performing potentially dangerous work.

 

Scope of application: control of neutron flux parameters during loading and reloading of nuclear fuel and subsequent physical start-up of the reactor at facilities.

 

The MAK-01 equipment is designed for:

 

  • pulse counting rate measurements from detection devices based on low-background ionization fission chambers (included in the delivery package);
  • calculations of the period of doubling the pulse counting speed;
  • formation of an alarm and warning alarm signal when the setpoint is exceeded by the power level and (or) the doubling period;
  • output of the signal to the sound alarm device of the «nutcracker» type;
  • output information about the current value of the current pulse counting rate and the doubling period on the PC.

The equipment provides:

 

  • Collecting and processing information about neutron flux levels via two counting channels;
  • Formation of emergency and warning settings for the counting speed(3·101, 102, 3·102, 103, 3·103,104, 3·104, 105, 106 imp/s) and the period of doubling the pulse counting rate (5, 10, 50 s);
  • Measurement of the pulse counting rate proportional to the neutron flux density in the range from 0.1 to 5.0·106 imp/s;
  • Measurement of the period of doubling the pulse counting rate in the range from 5.0 s to ꚙ;
  • Formation of sound signals proportional to the counting speeds on sound alarm devices of the «nutcracker» type;
  • Continuous monitoring of the serviceability of the equipment (self-diagnosis).

The measuring channels of the equipment are certified as a means of measurement.
